Scratches and Swirl Marks

Customers often report scratches and swirl marks on their vehicles after using Mister Car Wash services. These marks can be frustrating and may require additional polishing to remove.

Broken Antennas and Mirrors

Due to the automated machinery used in the wash process, there have been incidents of broken or damaged antennas, mirrors, and other vehicle parts, which can lead to costly repairs.

Paint Damage

Some customers complain about paint chipping or being stripped during the wash process. This kind of damage can be particularly upsetting and might necessitate a repaint.

2. Poor Cleaning Quality

Incomplete Cleaning

Reports of visible dirt, grime, and soap residue left on the vehicle after the wash are common. This indicates an insufficient cleaning process and can leave customers dissatisfied.

Water Spots

Issues with water spots remaining on the vehicle suggest inadequate rinsing and drying. These spots can be unsightly and hard to remove without additional effort.

3. Customer Service Issues

Unresponsive Staff

Customers describe difficulties in receiving satisfactory responses or assistance from staff members. This lack of responsiveness can exacerbate frustration over any issues encountered.

Refusal to Address Damages

Instances where the company refuses to take responsibility for damages incurred during the wash process are reported. This refusal can leave customers feeling helpless and dissatisfied.

Rude Behavior

Reports of unprofessional and rude behavior from employees are also a concern. Such interactions can deter customers from returning.

4. Membership and Billing Problems

Difficulty Canceling Memberships

A frequent complaint is that canceling memberships is challenging, and charges are continued despite cancellation requests. This can lead to unnecessary expenses and frustration.

Unexpected Charges

Customers report unexpected or hidden fees that were not clearly communicated upfront. These charges can cause financial strain and mistrust.

Billing Errors

Complaints about being overcharged or billed incorrectly are also common. Billing errors can be time-consuming and challenging to resolve.

How to Deal with These Complaints

1. Addressing Vehicle Damage

Before and After Documentation

To document damage, take clear photos of your vehicle before and after the wash. This evidence will be helpful if you need to file a complaint or claim for damages.

Immediate Reporting

Report any damage to the on-site staff immediately and request a written report. If necessary, follow up with corporate customer service to ensure your complaint is addressed.

Insurance Claims

If Mister Car Wash refuses to address the damage, consider filing a claim with your vehicle insurance provider. Having documentation and a written report will support your claim.

2. Ensuring Cleaning Quality

Inspection

Inspect your vehicle thoroughly after the wash. If the cleaning is inadequate, request a rewash or additional attention to missed areas before leaving the facility.

Feedback and Follow-up

Provide feedback to the staff and follow up with corporate if the issue is not resolved on-site. Constructive feedback can help improve service quality.

3. Handling Customer Service Issues

Escalating Complaints

If local staff are unresponsive, escalate the complaint to corporate customer service via phone or email. Provide detailed records of your interactions and the issue to ensure it is taken seriously.

Documenting Interactions

Keep detailed records of all communications, including dates, names, and summaries of conversations. This documentation can be valuable if you need to escalate your complaint or seek resolution from higher management.

4. Managing Membership and Billing Issues

Monitoring Statements

Regularly check your bank or credit card statements for unauthorized charges or billing errors. Early detection of issues can prevent prolonged financial discrepancies.

Written Confirmation for Cancellations

When canceling a membership, request written confirmation and keep it for your records. If you notice continued charges, follow up to ensure the cancellation has been processed.

Requesting Refunds

If unsatisfactory services or wrongful charges occur, insist on speaking with a manager and request a refund, providing documentation of the issue. Being persistent and well-documented will increase the likelihood of a positive outcome.

  1. Mister Car Wash is full of it, after reporting the incident and waiting 2 weeks before I could see the video was enough. But what really got me was the guy Josh trying to make me think that the last roller is what hit my window, it was the roller in the middle that wipes the extra soap off, then the dry dryer does its thang, It’s sad that businesses and people who work for them do not if they use dishonest methods towards customers. Who do that, life is too short to not have the right mortality for people. He tried to tell me that the transmission was in drive and neutral, wow. Not dumb by far, called my friend at Muffler Man and asked him if that could be true, he just laughed and said who told you that. Fake butt folks. Will see y’all in court period. Don’t go there!!!

  2. In August I went to a Mr. Car Wash in Vienna VA and when I paid with my credit card the number was used to place some sort of membership to be billed monthly. I was in process of moving so did not recognize the wrongful bill for Sept. 23 but when I was billed in Oct. for the $29.99 I realized that there was a fraudulent enrollment on my card. I have spent more than an hour trying to find out how to reclaim my money and end this ripoff. There are endless excuses as to why I cannot speak to any one about this money grab by this company.

  3. Hello, my name is Mrs. Blair. I have been a member of Mister Car Wash for almost a year, and I only pay for the $20 membership. My car is only driven to be washed and then goes back home, where I keep it protected from the sun. It has always been washed by hand, never by a machine.

When I first started using the car wash, I noticed that the machine scratched the sides of my car and broke my antenna. I complained from the beginning, but the manager refused to listen and insisted that the machine didn’t cause any damage. I decided to keep using the machine, and if it continued damaging my car, I would be sure it was the cause—since I only drive this car for washing and use other cars for daily outings.

After going through the machine multiple times, my car kept getting more damage. There was a manager on-site who tried to deny the issue when I pointed it out. He was ignorant and unprofessional, despite knowing that their machine had damaged my car. I took photos as evidence and want this issue resolved as soon as possible.

I have already canceled my membership after noticing the cheap soap and how the machines get too close, scratching my Jeep.

  4. Hi Mrs. Blair,

That sounds like such a frustrating experience, especially since you take such good care of your car. It’s disappointing when a business won’t take responsibility, even when the evidence is right in front of them. You’d hope they’d at least be willing to listen and address the issue.

I completely understand why you decided to cancel your membership. If the wash isn’t meeting your expectations and causing damage, it makes sense to look elsewhere. Hopefully, they take feedback like yours seriously and make improvements. Thanks for sharing your experience!

  5. I’ve already contacted the company multiple times about the damage caused to my car by their machine, and I’m still waiting for them to respond and resolve the issue. It’s extremely frustrating that after so many attempts to get in touch, they haven’t taken any action to fix my car.

I’m really hoping they’ll finally take responsibility and fix the damage as soon as possible. At this point, I just need them to follow through and take care of it.

    Thanks again for your support.

  6. Hi Denise,

That sounds really frustrating, especially after reaching out multiple times with no response. It’s disappointing when a company doesn’t step up and take responsibility, especially when the damage is clear. Hopefully, they finally get back to you and make things right soon.

Wishing you the best, and I hope you get the resolution you deserve!
